Mr. Hawkins concentrates his practice on corporate and transactional matters, primarily serving privately held businesses of all sizes. He has substantial experience representing a wide variety of businesses engaged in industries such as manufacturing, retail, financial services, transportation, food service, telecommunications and technology. Mr. Hawkins handles a broad range of matters for these businesses including those involving contracts, leases, commercial real estate, employment issues, asset and stock acquisitions and sales, joint ventures, and business mergers, along with related estate and succession planning.

In addition to his legal practice, Bill works closely with many entities in a consulting role, focusing on organization, governance, negotiations, operations, fulfilling capital requirements and other general business matters. Prior to joining Hennessy & Roach, Bill was President and CEO of a business enterprise, and before that was an equity partner at a large Chicago law firm. He served and continues to serve in director and officer capacities for numerous civic, social, educational and charitable organizations and has lectured and authored articles on a broad range of business-related issues.

Mr. Hawkins joined the firm as Partner and Chair of the Business Practice Group in the Chicago office. The Business Practice Group offers clients a blend of comprehensive legal expertise and practical business counseling that enables us to clarify goals, find solutions and achieve results in a wide variety of business transactions.
